FSAI Update Guidelines To Allow Dogs In Restaurants

The Dog-Friendly Association of Ireland is delighted to announce that following our discussions with the Food Safety Authority of Ireland, they have officially updated their guidance regarding dogs on a food premises.

Until today, guidance from the FSAI and Health Service Executive to restaurants was mixed, causing confusion and stress for food businesses looking to become dog-friendly. This didn't stop numerous cafes and pubs around Ireland from welcoming our canine companions, including a number of DFAI members.

The Dog-Friendly Association met with the FSAI earlier this year, and can now confirm the guidelines have been updated to allow dogs on a food premises at the business owner's discretion (aligning the guidance with European law). You can find out more on the FSAI website here.
